The V Weight Pouch can be used to add trim weight in the center groove of a set of doubles between the cylinders and backplate. Perfect for trimming double AL-80's, which otherwise become too buoyant at the end of the dive. The pouch measures { 11 in | 27.9 cm } from center to center grommet for a universal fit on the cylinder band bolts held in place by the backplate. One nice feature of the pouch is you can precisely adjust the amount of weight (Lead shot) you add based on your needs and the type of plate. Simply add up to { 7 lb | 3.2 k } of lead shot into the pouch, and the double Velcro® closure guarantees the opening will remain sealed. For extra security, we like to put a cable tie on the closure. Shot weight is not included, we just cut the corner off an ordinary soft bag weight and pour the shot into the V-pouch.

Solid option for added weight

I was looking to add weight to myself without adding more to pockets, and this trim weight is what I settled on. I use it with a standard backplate with a single cylinder and it works pretty well. I have 3lbs of shot in mine, and while I can feel it against my back, it's not so uncomfortable that I've torn the thing off yet. Definitely noticeable, and I have a hard time imagining what 4lbs shot would feel like. Not perfect, but not a bad way to add weight to a rig. Appears solidly made - the velcro is a pain to get apart, which is a good thing!

As DGX clearly states, just cut the corner off an ordinary soft bag weight and pour the shot into the V-pouch. It works well and doesn't get in the way
