DGX Assembly Screws, Plastic, Set of TWO
- Attachment screws with multiple applications
- Perfect for attaching wings to a harness
- Durable plastic material for long life
- Fits through a 3/8-inch hole
- Includes Qty 2 complete assembly screws
In our experience, the plastic versions also work every bit as well as the metal versions for mounting accessories to backplates and they are much lower cost. Designed to fit through a 3/8-inch hole. Sold as a set of two.
We STRONGLY suggest using these plastic options to help attach your aircell to a hard metal backplate as they lay flat and will not interfere with your cylinder.
Without the assembly screws, when the BCD is taken off a single tank the wing will hang loose on the cam straps. Note that this function is just cosmetic, some people prefer to omit the assembly screws and this does not cause a problem.

Sufficient but room for improvement
on 7 April, 2019I couldn't find any other plastic option so these were my choice. Three of the sets I ordered were fine, the fourth had a deformed head, to the point where I have three usable sets and a 4th half. Quality control could be slightly better with them.
I wish there were two lengths available. If you have a metal eyelet on the harness or a thick backplate then it will be tight, only a couple threads biting, but they still did the for trick for me.

Ordering and Delivery

They do the job, and they're lightweight
on 6 January, 2017I got these to secure a couple of extra D-rings to grommets in the tail of my BCD, where I can clip on a butt-pack. They're lightweight and they screw down tight enough that I don't believe they'll come loose in use.
Using the metal grommets......
Using the metal grommets, either the DR or the XS sleeve can easily be attached to the bottom or sides of any standard metal backplate using assembly screws or attached to the Transpac using medium quick links or the pear shaped quick links. We find that for this application, the plastic assembly screws work just as well as the metal versions and cost a lot less. You can also use ordinary cable ties, but in our experience cable ties don't hold so you'll need to double up.
