The 9/16-inch wide band and the screw assembly of Dive Gear Express cylinder clamps are both stainless steel. There are no spot welds to rupture, and the one-piece housing cannot come apart.
Once a cylinder clamp has been tightened on to the cylinder, the long tail of the metal clamp typically protrudes at an angle and may interfere with handling of the stage bottle or even cutting exposure suits. The primary primary purpose of the nylon tubular webbing sheath is to provide a cover to manage the excess tail of the clamp once it has been tightened on to the cylinder. This sheathed clamp version includes tubular webbing that covers the band and a slightly wider piece of tubular webbing that covers the screw assembly. The webbing is hot knife pre-cut to appropriate length to match the diameter of the cylinder.
X-Small sheathed clamp fits cylinders approximately {4.40 in | 11 cm} in diameter (AL-13, AL-19) Small sheathed clamp fits cylinders approximately {5.25 in | 14 cm} in diameter (AL-30, AL-40, LP-45, LP-50) Large sheathed clamp fits cylinders approximately {7.25 in | 18 cm} in diameter (LP-72, LP-80, AL-80, HP-80, LP-85, HP-100) X-Large sheathed clamp fits cylinders approximately {8.00 in | 20 cm} in diameter (LP-95, AL-100, LP-104, HP-119, HP-130)
NOTE: We only offer 2 sizes of stainless steel clamps but offer 4 sizes of tubular webbing sheaths for a more precise fit when attached to the correct size cylinder.
I've bought these clamps second times and I found them really good, but for better fix them on tanks they should change lock's cover pieces from rubber.
The clamp and sheath kit is a quality kit. I have purchased a few of them in various sizes for stage and bailout bottles. They are made well and usually work flawlessly. Unfortunately, on this purchase, one of the clamps wouldn’t hold tight. The worm drive would skip in the clamp band slots and wouldn’t fully tighten under load. I think I just got a bad part. I’m sure DGX will gladly exchange the part.
Straps were as advertised and showed up fast. At first they looked entirely to large but the excess tucks nicely inside the cover leaving a very clean install. Never had an issue with anything I’ve purchased from DGX, this is no exception.
