Only Positive Experiences with my Kraken Hydro 8000 Lights
Apr 20, 2023
I've had nothing but positive experiences with my Kraken Hydra 8000 lights. I took them on a dive trip to Indonesia recently and was able to use them as video lights, photo lights, night dive lights, and even as UV lights for a fluoro dive. Although they do produce a vey wide light spread, they did work well enough as a night dive light...on one dive, I used a single Hydro 8000 as a night dive light and as a red focus light when taking pictures (using strobes). I was unsuccessful getting my lights to fire in burst mode with my camera, but I'm certain that was a user error thing. I may update this review once I figure out why they wouldn't fire, but having that dual capability is helpful if you're shooting stills. They're pretty heavy lights and take up a bit of room when traveling, but I'd recommend them.

Purchased this light mainly due ...brand name and capabilities
Feb 13, 2023
Purchased this light mainly due to the multi colour capability and brightness as well as the respected Kraken brand name since then I had nothing but trouble Firstly the light started strobing on its own when in video mode Kraken sent me a new housing then the on off switch failed and stopped working all together, now I am told they have no stock I think there is a major design flaw and it is being covered I do not recommend this light as it seems defective from the design onset
