Dive Rite O2 Regulator Package

XT O2 Deco Regulator Package
XT O2 Deco Regulator Package DIN First Stage with PSI/BAR Mini-SPG XT2 Second Stage
  • Compact lightweight decompression regulator
  • Unbalanced piston DIN first stage w/ adjustable 2nd
  • 2 HP ports and 1 LP port - OPV included
  • Includes Mini-SPG, S/S bolt snap, DIN cap
  • Assembled, tested and shipped to you ready-to-dive

Assembled using oxygen compatible materials and lubricants, this Dive Rite O2 Deco Regulator is suitable for Oxygen Service without the need for additional preparation. The Dive Rite Deco Regulator is a compact, lightweight option for an accelerated decompression regulator. A value priced flow-by piston DIN first stage and adjustable second stage delivers performance tuned for shallow water decompression. An orthodontic long bite mouthpiece reduces jaw fatigue on longer deco obligations. This regulator has the typical BSP G5/8 DIN connector that will fit 200 Bar and 300 Bar valves. The package includes a Mini-SPG displaying both PSI and BAR, S/S bolt snap with hose clip retainer, DIN cap, and comes assembled by Dive Rite with a green faceplate cover and green {40 in | 1 m} hose. The flex hose makes hose management easy and comes standard with the O2 Deco Regulator setup.

Because of the small piston first stage, the Dive Rite Deco Regulator is ultra reliable but is not intended for use deeper than {50 ft | 15m} on an appropriate gas mix. It is not compatible with the M26X2 Nitrox/Oxygen valve outlet mandated ONLY in the European Union by the EN 144-3:2003 standard. We also note that this first stage is NOT compatible with MiFlex Brand HP hoses.

Extremely happy with the service and the products sent to Ireland, but the 31% customs fee came as an unpleasant surprise.

Very happy with the product. The shipment to Ireland was quick, ordered it on my Thursday afternoon and was already in Dublin by Saturday and delivered Monday. Extremely pleased with that plus it was free shipment so can't complain about that either. However, I was hit with a 137 euro customs fee that I had to pay to DHL on the spot. I knew there was going to be a customs fee of some sort, but wasn't expecting 30% of what I paid for in dollars. The value added tax in Ireland is 23%. This might be outside dive gear express's ability, but if it is possible it'll be handy to give an estimate of the customs fee along with the subtotal, shipping & handling, etc.. I'm afraid to buy anything large again with the fear of what surprise I'll get when it arrives. I understand this is out of dive gear express's control so I'm still giving 5 stars.

Tek Tip Warning Image WARNING
According to our suppliers, their Nitrox Ready and Oxygen Service products are compatible with oxygen and factory cleaned for use with compressed gases in excess of 23.5% oxygen. Nonetheless, the 'clean state' of this equipment applies only prior to initial use. Thereafter, periodic inspection and cleaning are a necessity. You must meticulously follow the recommendations of the US Department of Transportation (DOT), Compressed Gas Association (CGA), and other federal/state/local agencies, plus your dive training agency for equipment maintenance, handling, storage, labeling, filling, transport and use of compressed gases. Oxygen-related fires and explosions can result in serious injury or death. Ultimately, you must make the final decision to assume all risks associated with the use of any compressed gases, including those in excess of 23.5% oxygen.

Required-stop Decompression and Regulators

Open-circuit technical divers often switch to breathing pure oxygen or a very rich advanced Nitrox mix such as 50%, to substantially reduce their required-stop times as compared to decompressing using just their bottom mix, called accelerated decompression. The depth where the gas switch occurs is relatively shallow, typically {20 fsw | 6 msw} for 100% oxygen or { 70 fsw | 21 msw} for 50% Nitrox. For profiles with very deep and/or very long bottom times, the diver can further reduce their required-stop times with multiple gas switches during the ascent, called staged decompression (not to be confused with regulator stages). The depths where the first gas switch occurs in staged decompression is relatively deep, typically {100 fsw | 30 msw} or a little deeper using a sport Nitrox mixture and for extreme exposures often the first switch is around {190 fsw | 57 msw} using normoxic Trimix.

In most cases, it is pointless to pay a top-shelf price for a high-performance regulator that will be dedicated to deco. Required-stop decompression in general is not an activity that demands high-performance regulators. Divers on decompression stops are normally at rest and decompression gas regulators are typically configured with only a single second stage. The shallower accelerated decompression depths are not at all demanding of regulator performance, almost any regulator would do in theory, but the very rich decompression gas requires the regulator be specifically designated as suitable for use with pure oxygen. Unfortunately, most regulator manufacturers only describe their regulators as suitable for Nitrox mixtures to 40% maximum. Most staged decompression depths do require a somewhat better performing regulator, at least qualified for sport nitrox mixtures.

Unfortunately, due to liability concerns of most recreational diving equipment suppliers, there are only few value priced regulators that are officially qualified for use with 100% oxygen. Dive Gear Express offers four value priced specialty decompression regulators all designed and qualified for use with 100% oxygen, but suitable for use in differing maximum depth ranges (and also limited to the maximum operating depth of the gas mixture) based on the performance of their first stages. The Dive Rite O2 Regulator is suitable to a maximum depth of { 50 fsw | 15 msw}. The DGX Gears O2 Regulator is suitable to a maximum depth of {130 fsw | 40 msw}. The Mares O2 Regulator is suitable for use to a maximum depth of {160 fsw | 50 msw}. The Dive Rite FT Stage/O2 Regulator is high-performance regulator suitable for staged decompression and does not have a maximum depth limit defined by the manufacturer.
