I was really stoked to recieve this strobe, and while the strobe does give sufficient light, I found it to be far to long for efficient storage during diving. The velcro strap is of little use when cold water diving and a bungee becomes quite long, in order to make a sling, given the length of the strobe. This menas that it cannot really be clipped on the harness be/after diving, but must go into the pocket. The round dome is nice for easily attaching the strobe though.
If I were to redo my purchase, i would have gone for a shorter one, and I believe that progress in led-technology would allow stronger strobe wattage even so.
I've ordered several items from Dive Gear Express over the past few weeks. I don't know if this is their standard but all items were shipped the same day I ordered them.
This LED Strobe provides visibility from quite a distance. I hung it on the anchor line to give me an idea how far I had to go when reeling back to the anchor line.
I was diving about 40 miles out in the Atlantic, depth approx 100 feet. The vis was good but this provided extra reassurance when returning to the anchor line.
