The Mares XR Second Stage Vertical Regulator (VR) features unique vertical orientation of the hose routing that is comfortable from either side of the diver and makes this regulator perfect for use with travel, bailout and deco bottles. The vertical design allows for an unobstructed gas flow path with twin exhausts for smooth inhalations and exhalations. The VR also routes part of the gas from the second stage valve directly to the mouthpiece through a bypass tube that creates a swirling effect or vortex movement. The core of the vortex is a low pressure area that pulls the diaphragm down during the inhalation phase, resulting in an easy breathing regulator. The Vortex Assisted Design (VAD), together with unobstructed gas flow path and twin exhausts, allows for the feel of natural breathing.
