These plastic webbing locks can be securely attached to any {2 in | 5.1 cm} webbing. We've found numerous uses for the webbing lock; you can use them to hold nearly anything in place on {2 in | 5.1 cm} webbing. One lock can be used to stop something from sliding off webbing, or use two locks to sandwich something between them so it will remain precisely in place. A molded-in loop at the top will also accept a split ring, adding to the uses for this device.
You'll need to use pliers (or have the hand strength of King Kong) to close this lock on webbing and force the gripping surface to penetrate surface of the webbing, especially if the webbing is dry and stiff. Once closed it's not moving at all, but it can be opened with effort.
Note: Please do NOT use pliers on the small clip near the end that holds the webbing lock closed, it will break off. Use pliers only on the BODY of the lock, near the middle.
I have used these for several years to stabilize weight pockets and they work fine.
I have in addition, "connected" the lock clips on each side of the wt. pocket with electric cable zip ties.
As another commenter said, they are hard to lock into place and hard to remove, but that may be why they are good at doing what they are designed to do.
I rigged my own dual leg pocket rig using a weight belt and the OMS thigh pockets sold here. I use these webbing lock clips on either side of the strap that the OMS pockets hang from to keep the strap locked into place in line with my hips. The webbing lock clips are much more comfortable than using plastic triglides on the weight belt plus they provide additional anchor points should I need them.
These seem to work to keep items on my webbing stationary. My only issue with them is they are difficult to close. Once closed, if you decide you want to move something, they are very difficult to open. That's probably a good thing and there may be a secret, but I don't know it.
