Shipping Transit Delays Advisory

How to choose shipping when timing matters

This page explains what transit delays typically mean, when a delay is still within normal carrier behavior, and how to choose shipping when timing matters.

  • MUST arrive on or before a specific date: Use UPS Next Day Air® or USPS Priority Mail Express®
  • Important but not critical: Use an expedited service and allow extra time
  • Flexible timing: Ground shipping is acceptable, but delays are common

Transit delays are outside our ability to predict or control. If delivery timing matters, allow for delays when placing your order. In our experience, only UPS Next Day Air® and USPS Priority Mail Express® consistently offer money-back carrier guarantees. Ground transit delays are common, so if delivery is time-sensitive, do not select Super Saver, UPS Ground, USPS Ground Advantage™, or USPS Priority Mail®.

While Dive Gear Express orders dispatch on time, transportation factors such as severe weather, routing issues, and equipment failures can cause carrier delays with USPS, UPS, and DHL.

Ground shipment delays are often one to two days, but longer delays do occur. Expedited domestic shipments can also be delayed. International shipments may experience additional time in transit due to routing and Customs clearance, especially for remote destinations with limited air service.

Delivery dates are estimates based on “best effort” carrier services after dispatch. Even for expedited services with money-back guarantees, delivery dates are not certain and refunds apply only under limited carrier conditions. Most packages transit within expected timeframes, and Dive Gear Express guarantees safe arrival to your ship-to address.

Guaranteed Safe Arrival

We are responsible for delivery of the undamaged order to the ship-to address. You are responsible for ensuring the delivery address is correct and refers to a location that is accessible, safe, and secure, then collecting the shipment from the carrier and promptly notifying us of any discrepancies. For international orders shipped outside the US, you are also responsible for paying import fees upon delivery. Please note special conditions for orders shipped to APO/FPO/DPO mailboxes, orders with specified date delivery, orders requesting non-guaranteed shipping, and orders shipped to package forwarding services.
