This Nitrox Ready chromed brass high pressure disconnect can directly accept any pressure gauge other device that accepts the standard 7/16-20 UNF connection found on high pressure SCUBA hoses and includes one air spool. The quick disconnect is a bayonet style mount that you push in and turn to connect or disconnect while NOT under pressure. Suitable for use with any HP hose pressure ordinarily encountered in recreational SCUBA systems, although once the hose is pressurized it's not possible to operate the connect-disconnect feature.

The typical SCUBA application for a high pressure disconnect is to put an expensive dive computer console at the end of a high pressure hose. Another application is to use a short HP hose with a wireless pressure transmitter for an air integrated dive computer such that it's easy to remove the transmitter for storage. Because HP quick disconnects are bulky, making them annoying at the hose ends, accepting an air spool at both ends will work with our flex HP hoses (which will also accept HP air spools at either end) to create a HP hose solution with the quick disconnect in the middle.

Note: While the high pressure input side (male end) does automatically close if the two pieces of the adapter are not connected together, the high-pressure output side (female end) of the connector does NOT. When the two pieces are disconnected, we do not recommend relying upon the input side automatic closure as the device was not designed or tested while diving with the two pieces are disconnected. However, you can close the 7/16-inch female end of the adapter with a standard regulator high pressure port plug. Do not disconnect underwater or you could flood the device connected to the adapter.
