DGX Adapter: LP Reg Hose = DGX Gears BCI 2nd Stage

DGX Gears Adapter for BCI Backup Regulator
DGX Gears Adapter for BCI Backup Regulator Attached to BCI 2nd Stage and LP Hose Spring Sits Inside Adapter

You can not use a standard BC inflator QD hose Schrader fitting to supply the DGX Gears BCI Backup Regulator alternate air source, as the device would not receive enough gas due to the flow restriction of a standard Schrader fitting. This adapter allows any length standard low-pressure regulator hose to be converted into a quick disconnect hose specifically for the QD post found on the DGX Gears BCI Backup Regulator. The 9/16-inch male end screws into the second stage end of an ordinary LP regulator hose, and the other end of the adapter is a female slide-lock fitting that accepts the hi-flow male post found on the DGX Gears BCI Backup Regulator. The adapter is also compatible with the Mares Air Control and XS Scuba MultiMax alternate air sources.

  • The low-pressure regulator hose is NOT included with this adapter. The adapter itself will add about {1.5 in | 3.8 cm} to the length of the regulator hose. The suggested lengths of the LP hose regulator hose are:

    • 26-inch LP Reg hose is suggested for recommended length 22-inch corrugated hose
    • 24-inch LP Reg hose is suggested for typical sport BCD length 19-inch corrugated hose
    • 22-inch LP Reg hose is suggested for typical technical aircell length 16-inch corrugated hose

IMPORTANT ADVISORY: This adapter contains a spring loaded one-way check valve that operates such that, when the low-pressure hose is disconnected from the regulator second stage, the check valve will seal the end of the hose under pressure. If you push the naked adapter (i.e. without it being connected to a regulator hose) on to the QD post of the regulator then the check valve assembly will become dislodged and possibly fall out of the adapter. If that happens, remove the adapter from the second stage, then place the check valve assembly back in the adapter and re-seat by using a thin plastic or wooden dowel to push on the back of the assembly until you feel it click back into place.
