DGX Adapter: LP Reg Hose = DGX Gears BCI 2nd Stage
The DGX Gears BCI Backup Regulator alternate air source packages always include this adapter. You only need to purchase this adapter if you wish additional adapters for use with multiple first stages.
You can not use a standard BC inflator QD hose Schrader fitting to supply the DGX Gears BCI Backup Regulator alternate air source, as the device would not receive enough gas due to the flow restriction of a standard Schrader fitting. This adapter allows any length standard low-pressure regulator hose to be converted into a quick disconnect hose specifically for the QD post found on the DGX Gears BCI Backup Regulator. The 9/16-inch male end screws into the second stage end of an ordinary LP regulator hose, and the other end of the adapter is a female slide-lock fitting that accepts the hi-flow male post found on the DGX Gears BCI Backup Regulator. The adapter is also compatible with the Mares Air Control and XS Scuba MultiMax alternate air sources.
The low-pressure regulator hose is NOT included with this adapter. The adapter itself will add about {1.5 in | 3.8 cm} to the length of the regulator hose. The suggested lengths of the LP hose regulator hose are:
- 24-inch LP Reg hose is suggested for typical sport BCD length 19-inch corrugated hose
- 22-inch LP Reg hose is suggested for typical technical aircell length 16-inch corrugated hose
While it does not work to adapt a BC inflator hose to a regulator, it is possible to adapt a LP regulator hose to a standard BC inflator but to avoid confusion we list that adapter separately (see related products above.) Having the additional low-flow BC inflator hose adapter in your save-a-dive kit provides an easy way to use your regulator with a different BC that has a common low-flow Schrader QD post simply by swapping the adapter on the end of the hose.
