OMS Anodized Aluminum D-Rings are available in 3 sizes for a variety of uses. The Aluminum material offers a durable product while also being lightweight and resistant to salt water corrosion. They are also anodized (coated with a protective oxide layer) which further increases resistance to corrosion and wear. This process also results in the dark color which is simply aesthetic but does serve to reduce glare for photographers when YOU are the subject. They have welded seams to prevent separation even when attaching heavy objects. They perform the exact same function as the stainless steel options but weigh less which makes them great for travel or for smaller divers when overall gear weight may be an issue.
