Keep a pair of stainless steel wing nuts and washers in your save-a-dive kit.

You won't be able to secure your backplate to your tank if you lose one, and you wouldn't be the first to miss a dive for 'want of a horseshoe nail'.

The wing nuts and washers are made of marine grade stainless steel.

Available in two thread sizes:

5/16-18 threads fit almost every brand of doubles bolts including DGX, Dive Rite plus the Highland bolts for 8-inch cylinders.

3/8-18 threads version that only fits the over-sized Highland bolts for 7.25-inch cylinders.
