DGX Premium O2 In-Line Valve
WE WANT TO PROPERLY SET YOUR EXPECTATIONS: The inlet and outlet on these oxygen compatible valves are oxygen clean copper metal alloy (aka "brass") which exhibit some discoloration that is NOT aesthetically pleasing as chromed brass finishes typical of most SCUBA valves.
DGX Premium O2 In-Line Valve
- Oxygen compatible and clean
- Slow and gradual opening action
- NO chrome plating on friction surfaces
- Standard 0.750-14 NPSM (3/4 NPS) neck threads
WE WANT TO PROPERLY SET YOUR EXPECTATIONS: The inlet and outlet on these oxygen compatible valves are oxygen clean copper metal alloy (aka "brass") which exhibit some discoloration that is NOT aesthetically pleasing as electroplated chrome finishes typical of other SCUBA valves. If you consider the cosmetics to be important, and maximum compatibility with pure oxygen is less of a concern, then we recommend choosing our standard Nitrox Ready DGX Compact In-line Valves.
DGX Premium O2 valves are oxygen clean, using oxygen compatible materials, lubrication free, and when sealed in the original factory packaging is also free of organic and particle contamination. The DGX Premium O2 valve seat & plug assembly has finer threads, making the initial opening action of the valve more gradual and requiring several more turns to fully open than the standard SCUBA valve. The DGX Premium O2 valves have inlet and outlet threads, modular port threads and port plug, seat & plug assembly, dip tube, burst disk assembly and optional DIN-to-Yoke adapters that are not chrome plated. The outside body and other non-friction surfaces of the DGX Premium O2 valve remain chromed for the sake of cosmetics. The DGX Premium O2 valve includes your choice of a green or black color handwheel. The black color is usually seen on the diluent cylinder and green color is usually seen on the oxygen cylinder, but the valves are otherwise identical except for knob color.
The DGX Premium O2 In-Line valve has a 232-Bar DIN (G 5/8 BSP) outlet, suitable for use with the 3442 psi service pressure cylinders and any DIN style regulator. Inlets have standard 0.750-14 NPSM (3/4 NPS) neck threads for use with all modern aluminum and steel SCUBA tanks and include a 5250 psi burst disk assembly with a green head. DGX valves include a nearly indestructible handwheel made from soft rubber formed around a stainless steel insert. The stainless steel insert ensures positive operation with long-lasting life. The large ribs make it easy to open or close the valve even while wearing gloves.
According to our suppliers, these products are constructed with oxygen compatible materials and factory cleaned for use with compressed gases in excess of 23.5% oxygen. Nonetheless, the 'clean state' of this equipment applies only prior to initial use. Thereafter, periodic inspection and cleaning are a necessity. You must meticulously follow the recommendations of the US Department of Transportation (DOT), Compressed Gas Association (CGA), and other federal/state/local agencies, plus your dive training agency for equipment maintenance, handling, storage, labeling, filling, transport and use of compressed gases. Oxygen-related fires and explosions can result in serious injury or death. Ultimately, you must make the final decision to assume all risks associated with the use of any compressed gases, including those in excess of 23.5% oxygen.
