Dive Rite Transplate Harness Only

DR Transplate Harness
DR Transplate Harness
  • Accommodates both single and double tank diving
  • Adjustable ergonomic padded shoulder straps
  • Quick release buckles on both shoulders
  • Chest strap for weight distribution and snug fit
  • Backed with the Dive Rite Lifetime Warranty

The TransPlate harness utilizes many features and benefits of the TransPac harness for divers who demand comfort and the perfect fit when using a backplate. The TransPlate transforms as quickly and as easily to accommodate everything from single cylinders to doubles with stage and deco bottles. The adjustable padded shoulder straps cinch for a perfect fit, stay where you set them, and allow easy switching between wetsuit and drysuit. The elegant and simple design of the adjustable shoulder straps don't interfere with the waist straps, meaning the waist D-rings don't move when you adjust the shoulders. The shoulder and waist D-ring positions are adjustable or can be removed entirely, and additional D-rings and buckles can easily be added for special needs. Canister lights, bellows pockets and other accessories can be quickly mounted or removed at the waist belt.

Already have your backplate and air cell? Then all you need to purchase is the TransPlate harness itself. The harness shoulders and waist belt quickly install on any hard backplate. The harness comes complete with shoulder and waist D-rings, but does not include a backplate.

    Best harness I've used

This is the first harness that I've installed that didn't require several dives of making adjustments to get the fit exactly right. It was easier to install, had superior ease of D ring placement on the should straps and they were more accessible. It also fit my backplate better, allowing me to move the wing lower improving my positioning in the water which improved my air consumption by about 10%.

    Transplate harness.

I dive with a backplate and wing I had a hollis harness but really didn't like it all that well as you have to try and tread the harness webbing back through a bunch of sliders and it was hard trying to get it done. I was putting together a rig for a friend and ordered the Transplate harness it is much easier to rig so I bought one for myself Love it. quality harness.

    Dive rite Transplate harness

I Bought this for a friend in Canada who I dive with in Mexico. He was using a mares jacket style BC with 60 lbs of lift I was giving him crap for so much lift when he only ways 170 lbs finally talked him into a backplate wing set up which i'm putting together for him like the harness I bought one for my self to replace the hollis harness I was using, the new hardware is so much nicer than n the way the hollis sets up. this one you thread the left over webbing back through the shoulder pads. much easier than the hollis. Five stars. Quality harness.

    Pretty decent built

Overall I'm pleased with this harness. It fit fine onto my OMS backplate. It has generally sturdy construction and high quality overall. I like the ability this harness gives to loosen up my shoulder straps, put on my gear, then I can "pull down" on the shoulder straps to cinch to the desired fit. The only ares for potential improvement would be to beef up the plastic buckles that are used for the lower half of the shoulder straps. These are fine for now but I would not be surprised if in several years future that the thin plastic tabs in the buckles eventually break.

    As advertised.

It’s a pretty simple harness and works well. Put it on an oms plate and it was obviously compatible. XL fits perfectly for me at 6’3” without need for adjustment.

Threading a 3-slot Quick-Release Belt Buckle

Thread a Buckle

Starting from the front of the metal buckle, thread the left waist strap through the larger end slot of the buckle. Position the buckle approximately { 18 in | 45.7 cm } of webbing length from the plate left waist slot. Then thread the webbing from the back through the center slot and through the front of the inner most slot. Then thread the webbing through the back of the larger end slot so there are two thicknesses of webbing through one slot and pull the weave tight.
