The CX1 is a compact handheld dive light using a Cree XM-L2 U4 emitter and orange peel reflector with a tight 6 degree beam. The CX1 boasts 1000 lumens max power at 6500 Kelvin color temperature. The relatively small size makes it a great light for the traveling recreational diver, while its power and features appeal to even the most demanding tech divers.

The hard coat anodized aluminum body has an ergonomic design providing a comfortable and secure grip even with gloves or cold bare hands.

The CX1 allows the diver to choose a brightness level and burn time that matches their dive plan. All power modes (High, Medium, Low, Very Low, and Strobe) are easily selected using the magnetic push button on the tail of the light. Low battery level is indicated by a flash every 30 seconds for approximately 30 minutes before the light goes out so you will never be left in the dark unexpectedly.

A robust high capacity 5200 mAh 26650 li-ion battery provides extended burn times. The included 2 amp USB charger allows for fast charging in-between dives. The CX1 also includes an adapter sleeve for the use of an 18650 battery if desired.

A lanyard is included to ensure you'll never lose your light to the sea. Optional accessories include the specially designed CX1 Handmount Sleeve which can be used to securely mount the CX1 to any of Dive Rite's handmounts.

NOTE: An additional adapter is required to mount the CX1 with the QRM mounting system

  1. Great Light at a Great Price

Great primary light for me on OW and light to moderate tec dives. The hefty size of the battery provides extended service on a single charge without making for a bulky light. The spot beam is perfectly focused for zeroing in on your visual target at distance while the halo provides useful peripheral illumination so you don’t have to wave your beam everywhere. Steady light = steady diver. I typically use power setting 3 and 4 (with 1 being brightest) but I’m also the guy who frequently turns his light off and enjoys ambient illumination. The USB charger with a bank of five LEDs to show charging progress is much nicer than other chargers I have. The adapter for using a smaller battery is also slick (although if I insert the adapter fully I’m not sure how I’ll get it out). Very nice travel case that houses the light even with Dive Rite’s CX-1 hand mount installed. The only niggle I have is the button on the tail cap seems to harbor water. But now that I know that, I take measures to get the water out and also put a silica pack in the travel case.

  2. Good light but DGX better value in my opinion.

    By Bevan B.

I bought this light and the DGX 600 TWIST Handheld Light Kit. I have used both lights for night diving Prawns in the Swan River Perth and Open water dives off Rottnest Island. The DGX light is actually a brighter / whiter light and the difference is very noticeable . I do not understand as the CX1 is supposed to be 1000 lumnen and DGX 600 lumens. I did a burn test in a bucket of water and the DGX one was still going good after two hors but started to dim after that compared to the CX1, the CX1 burnt strong for the 3.5 hours claimed. So if you want to do 2 plus hour dives buy the CX1 or buy two DGX and its still cheaper than the CX1 and you have redundancy. I mounted two DGX lights on a Dive right helmet as well and its like daylight for night diving for prawns. I cant comment on the Larger capacity DGX as I didn't buy that one.
