Offering 600 lumens and depth rated below 600 feet, the DGX Push VIDEO Handheld Light features a true out-the-front 600 system lumens (1100+ raw LED lumens) of cool white 6500°K light in a no-hot-spot 120° beam perfect for underwater video use. Simply push the button on the base of the tail portion for ON/OFF activation with a triple O-ring seal. Using the supplied lithium-ion 18650 rechargeable battery, this compact light has a burn time of about 60 minutes †. According to CREE, the DGX Push has one of the highest performing single-die LEDs that is commercially available, the XLamp XM-L2 U4 LED, and is single-mode driven to prioritize light output over burn time. Considering the Dive Gear Express price, durability and video light output the DGX Push represents an excellent value!

Incorporating an optical quality glass lens with a triple o-ring seal between the head and body, the light is IP68 rated to { 656 ft | 200 m }. The switch design is Push ON/OFF at the base for simple one hand activation; unscrew the head completely from the body to load the battery. We designed this light with very tight tolerances to ensure the extreme depth rating so you will notice the battery installation does take effort. The tail has a sturdy rear tie-point for a bolt snap or use the included lanyard. The light has an electronic circuit to maintain constant light output as long as possible and provides reverse polarity & over temperature protection; meaning the DGX Push can also be used as a dry flashlight on the surface. Use the TTI-1004 Generic Mounting Bracket (Small) for helmet mounting this light. The anodized aircraft aluminum body measures { 5.7 x 1.6 x .9 in | 146 x 41 x 25 mm } (length x head diameter x tube diameter) with a dry weight of { 8.4 oz | 238 gm } including the battery.

In The Box -- The DGX video beam light head and triple O-ring seal body with push-button body, a wrist lanyard, plus a set of three spare O-rings. The DGX Push also includes a lithium-ion 18650 protected 3.7V battery and 110/220V 50/60Hz mains charger with US flat blade on the charger - an EU round mains plug adapter is available separately.

There isn't a manual, however there is not much to know. To load battery, unscrew the head from the body until the two pieces separate and then insert the battery in to the body, negative end first such that the positive end will be pointing toward the light head. Hold the head and screw the body clockwise back together all the way until it stops. If the O-rings look dry, leave them in place but smear a very small amount of silicone lubricant on the part of the O-ring surface you can see. If the O-rings start looking flat, then replace them with the included spares. Do not store the light for extended periods with the battery remaining inside the body. The PUSH switch operates magnetically, if the light seems to develop a mind of it's own check for a nearby magnetic field.

The DGX light includes a generic battery and charger, but any good quality protected-type 18650 battery and charger is suitable. They all pretty much work the same way and are interchangeable. Some batteries ship with a small adhesive cover on the ends or a sealed with a clear (not blue) plastic shrink wrap, if so remove and discard. Place the battery in the charger, matching the positive and negative indications on the sides of the battery to the same indications on the charger, and then plug in the charger. If the battery is properly positioned in the charger, a red light will illuminate and then some time later change color to green when done. Charging time varies considerably depending on the pre-existing charge level of the battery, typically 2 to 3 hours but can be as long as 4 to 6 hours for a depleted battery, and it's normal for batteries to get warm while charging. Best practice is never leave charging unattended then once the light turns green, unplug the charger and remove the battery.

Burn times with the supplied battery are a conservative estimate for technical diving use. Burn times can vary widely because we observe that most brands of lithium-ion 18650 batteries grossly over state their power rating claims.

  1. Nice Spread

So far, I've put in over a dozen 1 hour long dives with this light and have been very happy with it.

It has a nice wide and consistent spread of light, especially for how small and affordable it is (thank you DGX!). The on/off button is easy to press, even with thick cold water dry gloves on. The size and design of the barrel make it easy to hold and there is a perfect sized hole on the back for a lanyard (included) or bolt snap tie.

I've been using this light to film critters (basketball sized and smaller) with my action camera. I've also had good experiences using it as a "catch light" while swimming through schools of small to medium sized fish.

  2. Perfect Video Light

This is the second purchase for me. Last one purchased a year ago. I was using one attached under my Intova X2, which worked very well. I'm upgrading to a tray with 2 lights to help eliminate shadows. This light is VERY bright and has worked flawlessly. Runs for nearly 2 hours and a minimum of 2 dives on a charge. I LOVE the one push on/off button. My wife has the three setting Fantasea lights. While they are much brighter at 1600 lumins, they do have a hot spot. They also require a press and hold for off. The DGX lights are much quicker to turn on and off and have NO hot spots. They are perfect brightness for night dives and close up shots within 6 ft. during the day.

  3. Great little dive light

I mounted my Gopro to this light and I love it.
No light circles in my videos.
I'm only giving it 4 stars because I banged it pretty hard in a cavern yesterday and it broke.
But I'm ordering another one right now.

  5. Even wide beam, reliable operation, not quite as bright as I would like

This is the 3rd light I've bought in this form factor from DGX and the first with the video beam. The quality of the build is excellent and based on prior use of the similarly built 800 lumen spot light I can say I expect there will be no issues in service. The light is wide and even perfect for video. Only complaint is that it feels a bit dimmer than I was expecting. I have gone through several other cheaper lights from Amazon that although were brighter all failed in service after a few dives (leaks, electrical shorts, etc) but I guess you get what you pay for. If you need a compact and reliable video light, this one works well enough to brighten the exposure. However, it's certainly not as bright as some of the more expensive lights out there but again, you get what you pay for.
