DGX High Flow QD
- Attach quick disconnect between low-pressure hose and 2nd stage
- Automatically seals supply side when disconnected
- High flow performance (unlike a typical BC quick disconnect)
- Nitrox Ready with chrome plated brass construction
- Add optional coupling to join two hoses with QD in between
This convenient quick disconnect package offers high-flow performance to provide a quick disconnect between a standard low-pressure hose and second stage regulator. The 9/16-inch female end screws attaches to the standard male threads found on most second stage regulators and at the other end is a QD male post. The 9/16-inch male end screws into an ordinary LP regulator hose for the gas supply, and the other end of the adapter is a QD female fitting that accepts the QD male post on the second stage. Made of chrome plated brass and Nitrox Ready, these value priced DGX High Flow QD fittings ARE compatible with the stainless steel Omniswivel High Flow QD System fittings.
When pushed together to form a locked connection, the QD fittings permit unrestricted bi-directional gas flow in the low-pressure hose. Pull the slide-release to disconnect and automatically seal to block gas flow from the low-pressure supply on the QD female fitting. This also allows the QD male fitting to be connected or released while the QD female fitting is pressurized, although connection and release are much easier to accomplish when un-pressurized. Unlike the Omniswivel version, this DGX version does NOT provide a backup twist-lock to prevent inadvertent disconnection.
The individual female and male QD fittings are also available separately if your application needs more of one fitting than the other. For example you have multiple second stages but only one supply hose, or you have multiple supply hoses but only one second stage. Add an optional hose coupling that allows two standard low-pressure regulator hoses to be joined together into one longer regulator hose with the quick disconnect in the middle instead of the end. The coupling accepts the 9/16-inch end of the QD male fitting, and the other end of the coupling accepts a standard 3/8-inch low-pressure hose fitting.

on 6 February, 2019Great quality product. I added a male connection to my full face mask reg and my second stage reg to make it easy to switch without replacing hoses.

Using any type of quick disconnects to switch between gas supplies while in the water has the risk of introducing at least a few drops of water contamination in the line. Sometime later this has the potential to cause a malfunction in any devices that are downstream of the disconnect. The diver should close the upstream shutoff or valve, perform the switch, then open the valve and operate the downstream device to clear the line. Dive Gear Express recommends that in-water switching using quick disconnects only be performed as an emergency procedure. For in-water switching that does not run the risk of contamination through the quick disconnects, consider using a gas switch block.
