We offer CCR Cylinder Sets configured for use with closed circuit rebreathers. They are aluminum or steel, preconfigured for use as oxygen and diluent in your choice of sizes and valves. We ship your cylinder with the valve installed (domestic ground US only), but during shipping the valve may loosen at the neck, so prior to the initial fill the valve should be made as tight as possible by hand only. The cylinders have a current month Visual Inspection Sticker, therefore no reinspection is necessary before filling. SCUBA Tanks must be hydrostatically tested every five years (60 months). Small cylinders are not frequently manufactured and typically have a factory hydro date between 6 and 18 months old, but can be older for sizes very rarely manufactured such as the AL-20 or LP-27.

The valves are configured by default as shown: the oxygen cylinder is on the diver's right, with the outlets facing away from diver. Or if you prefer a different configuration, give us your detailed specifications in the special instructions at checkout. Let us know what rebreather model you are using, whether you want the oxygen cylinder on the diver's left or right, with the valve outlets facing away from or toward the diver. However, both cylinders and valves are oxygen clean and the decals are shipped loose, so if you decide to configure them differently, you can change the orientation yourself just by swapping the handwheels.

(The 3L AL-20 set is pictured; see the table below for all cylinder specifications.) Both cylinders are oxygen clean with oxygen compatible valves. The oxygen cylinder has a green handwheel and the diluent cylinder has a black handwheel. Also available as a low cost option are the Vindicator Safety Handwheels. Included in the CCR cylinder package are a green and white OXYGEN decal and a red and white DILUENT decal. Choose from pairs of left and right valves by Blue Steel, Dive Rite or Thermo. The oxygen cylinder has a green handwheel and the diluent cylinder has a black handwheel. Advice for Traveling with Rebreather Cylinders

Regardless of the brand of rebreather it can be annoying to travel with cylinders because they are carefully examined by security personnel, and occasionally even confiscated. TSA says cylinders are allowed in checked baggage only if the cylinder has an open end. This means you must remove the valve and you must not plug the cylinder opening. Nothing should obscure the cylinder opening, not even clear tape or a plastic bag. This also means the open cylinders that traveled with you in checked baggage are contaminated and no longer suitable for oxygen service. Have a plan for how you are going to have them oxygen cleaned at the destination. Consider taking the cylinders with you as carry-on baggage, where you can remove a travel cap yourself during security inspections. You may prefer to rent cylinders at the destination or ship the cylinders ahead by a package carrier which will allow the cylinders to be sealed during transport.
