An added benefit of the RX10 microprocessor is the battery check function. The diver can easily check the battery charge by simply switching the unit on. If the unit flashes three rapid pulses, the diver knows that the battery is low before the dive. The RX2 microprocessor temperature monitoring technology enables the light to be used out of the water safely and reliably as the RX10 continuously monitors heat emission from the LEDs. When the light is operated out of the water, if it begins to overheat it will automatically reduce power to prevent the LEDs from overheating. This allows the diver to use the light on land post-dive at the campsite, boat dock, or any land-based activity requiring illumination.
Canister -- The SlimLine canister is machined from a solid block of Delrin and the RX10 is depth rated for { 500 ft |152 m }. Length: { 9 in | 22.9 cm }. Diameter: { 2.6 in | 6.6 cm } Weight: { 3.8 lb | 1.7 kg } Buoyancy: { -1.25 lb | -0.57 kg }.
Belt Mount-- The canister now comes with
Dive Rite's popular Quick Mount option at no extra charge. The quick mount is used to easily attach and detach a canister light to BC harnesses whose waist straps are equipped with { 2 in | 5.1 cm } webbing. Hardware such as D-rings and belt buckles no longer have to be removed in order to mount the light.
Canister Latches -- The locking latches are used to help prevent the accidental opening of a latch
under water. By opening these latches, you can quickly access the battery and wiring harness.
Power Connector -- The battery attaches to the power
cord, light head and switch through a pair of statically mounted banana plugs
in the bottom of the lid and top of the battery. The battery is not potted into
the canister so it can be easily removed if you wish to charge separately.
Canister Lid -- The canister lid contains the canister O-ring. The O-ring is what keeps the canister watertight. The design does not include a toggle switch on the lid, the switch is now located on the light head itself.
Power Cord -- The canister lid power cord has been selected to stand up to the rigors of
underwater use. There are sealing glands that include strain relief at both ends of the power cord. These
glands help form a watertight seal where the cord enters the canister and light head. The standard cord length is { 44 in | 111.8 cm } (gland to gland) and custom cord lengths are available upon request.
The Dive Rite RX10 LED Canister Light System uses a sealed Nickel Metal Hydride (NiMH) battery. NiMH batteries are largely maintenance free. After light use, you need only recharge the battery. The battery should also be recharged every 30 to 60 days if it has remained unused. Dive Rite NiMH batteries contain no lithium and do not have any TSA travel restrictions. Traveling divers also like the included NiMH charger because it automatically adjusts to 110/220V current and 50/60Hz frequency. A US power cord is included with other cords available.
