Frequently Answered Questions

Where is my tracking number? - When we ship your package you will be automatically sent the tracking number to the e-mail address you entered on the order form. In most cases if you have not received a tracking number via e-mail in the expected time frame, it has probably been sidelined or deleted by your anti-spam filter, so please check your spam e-mail folder. It's also possible your order hasn't shipped yet, and we sent you a message asking a question or telling you about a problem with the order.

Do you ship to APO/FPO addresses? - We offer USPS Priority Mail service to APO/FPO addresses for all our products. Using our shopping cart, always select United States as the ship to country and Priority Mail® as the shipping option. The ship to address must show the recipient's full name, unit number, Consolidated Mail Room (CMR) number or PSC number, and box number (if assigned) or ship name. The city must be APO or FPO and the state must be the appropriate two-letter "state" abbreviation (AA, AE, or AP) with the appropriate postal ZIP Code. Please be aware that USPS tracking for APO/FPO addresses ends once it enters that system. We ship immediately but are not able to estimate delivery times to APO/FPO addresses. While they are usually very efficient, we cannot accept responsibility for loss or long delays once the package enters the APO/FPO system.

Can you ship to arrive on a specific date at my hotel? -- We are happy to accommodate your request for date specific arrival at any domestic US address such as that of a friend, family member, or hotel. We have successfully shipped a great many packages to our customers who are traveling in the US and wish to return home with products purchased from Dive Gear Express. Please read our Date Specific Shipping Instructions page for details about this free service.

What is the delivery time for international shipping? - Our experience is most international destination packages shipped via USPS Mail International will arrive, regardless of destination country, within between one and two weeks time. Sometimes a package will arrive very quickly, within a few days. About equally as often as packages arrive early, they arrive late, but almost all arrive within about three weeks. Delays beyond three weeks are extremely rare. The usual reason for late arrival of your package is a delay clearing your local customs inspection. If your package has not arrived after three weeks, your face-to-face formal inquiry at your local postal service or customs office usually causes a package to deliver within a few days.

What is the cost of shipping? - The easiest way for you determine domestic or international shipping costs is simply add your product choices to the shopping cart. The first time you add an item to the cart, you will be asked shipping destination and the shopping cart will show you shipping options and calculate the actual shipping charges. Don't be concerned that you are entering an order. The shopping cart contents don't become an order until you select checkout, enter the billing information and actually submit the order.

Will you understate the value of my order on shipping documents? - By law, your order must ship with a certified true and correct itemized invoice along with a value declaration for the invoice amount (less shipping cost, if any) described as "Sporting Goods". We are ethical and honest in all aspects of our business, so please don't ask us to falsify documentation.

Is it suitable for use with oxygen? - In our opinion, we believe the equipment we sell is suitable for use with pure oxygen at gas pressures up to 3000 psi only if precautions are taken: use oxygen compatible materials, make sure it's kept very clean during assembly and use, open valves very slowly. However, we are not experts on this issue and many experts would disagree based on aerospace industry standards. There is a DOT standard for oxygen cleanliness in cylinders, and our cylinders meet the DOT standard as shipped with original factory seals intact. Our gas boosters, and some scuba regulators, also meet aerospace standards for oxygen cleanliness when they are sealed in the manufacturer original packaging. In addition to those items, Dive Gear Express offers diving products labeled Nitrox Ready, whose oxygen-compatible components are free of hydrocarbons and other flammable contaminants. These components are very clean, but have not had a cleanliness test and are not assembled in a clean room or sealed in a sterile environment as required by aerospace standards. Studies have demonstrated when any dive equipment is used in the environment typical of diving activities, it will immediately become so contaminated that it no longer meets any formal standard for oxygen service. Oxygen-related fires and explosions occur very infrequently, but are usually catastrophic when they happen. Because we have no way to control how our products are used and maintained, you must make the final decision to assume the risks associated with using our equipment with pure oxygen or oxygen enriched mixtures.
