Dive Rite Vision Correcting Mask

Dive Rite Double Lens Mask Dive Rite offers optional vision correcting lenses that you can order installed in their popular ES125 double lens mask. These vision correcting lenses are for divers who require distance vision correction (i.e., the diver is "nearsighted" and the Rx Sphere value is a "-" diopter. If your Rx is "+" you are "farsighted" and need our gauge reader mask below.) Your mask and lenses will be assembled and will Ship Today. The Dive Rite double lens mask fits nearly every standard-to-wide face and will accommodate facial hair, large noses, and high brows.

To order, consult your eyeglass or contact prescription for the proper amount of spherical power correction, and then select the mask lenses. When reading your prescription, "OS" means your left eye, and "OD" means your right eye. Strength for the lenses ranges from -1.0 to -8.0 diopter in half diopters. If you have a quarter diopter prescription, then increase to the next higher diopter. For example, if the Rx is -1.75, then increase to -2.0 diopter. If one eye needs no correction, then order a "Plano" lens for that side. If your Rx also has a cylinder power value with an axis value, you have an astigmatism and these lenses do not correct for astigmatism.

SeaDive Vision Correcting Mask

SeaVenture Mask with Vision Correcting Lenses SeaDive's SeaVenture mask may be fitted with -1.50 to -8.00 diopter vision correcting lenses, for divers who are nearsighted. Your mask and lens will be assembled and will Ship Today. The SeaVenture offers a slightly larger faceplate and lens area, with the tradeoff that the mask is not quite as low volume. The SeaVenture mask with vision correcting lenses fits most medium-to-wide faces, but is not recommended if you have facial hair or prominent laugh lines.

Because you asked... the vision correcting and gauge reader masks you find on this page have the magnification ground into the lenses themselves. The correction is not aftermarket 'stick on' or 'glue in' or adhered in any way. Our customers very plainly tell us the aftermarket solutions simply don't work well, and we don't bother selling them. For our masks, each of the lenses are ground just like you would expect on a pair of eyeglasses.

Dive Rite Gauge Reader Mask

The Dive Rite ES125 low-volume double-lens mask is available with +2.0 diopter gauge reader lenses. A half Gauge Seen Through +2.00 Diopter Lens circle inset at the bottom corner of each lens adds magnification to see close-up objects, such as gauges, with clarity and yet still provide a means for clear sight at distances. The mask fits nearly every standard-to-wide face and will accommodate facial hair, large noses, and high brows.

If you don't know exactly what amount of magnification you require, +2.0 diopter is the most common value found in gauge reader masks. If you prefer a different power of magnification, have a different bifocal requirement in each eye, or prefer a larger bifocal lens, then we suggest you consider the SeaDive Gauge Reader Mask.

An inset across the entire bottom of each lens adds magnification to see close-up objects, such as gauges and computers, with clarity and yet still provide a means for clear sight at distances. The SeaVenture mask fits most medium-to-wide faces, but is not recommended if you have facial hair or prominent laugh lines.

Toothpaste is for Teeth

Don't use toothpaste on modern dive masks, especially those masks that have vision correction lenses or 'optical coatings' on the lenses. You will either damage the lenses, or needlessly waste toothpaste since most modern toothpaste formulations are not at all abrasive. All new dive masks do have mould release agents in the flexible skirt that during long storage will migrate to the surface of the lense and cause fogging. For optically coated lenses, these deposits can easily be removed with an extra application of a powerful surfactant like SeaQuick defog or Johnson's® Baby Shampoo, ('No More Tears') but please don't use abrasives.
