Mask w/Vision Correcting Lenses

Dive Rite offers optional vision-correcting lenses that you can order installed in their popular double lens mask. These clear vision-correcting lenses are for divers who require distance vision correction (i.e., the diver is "nearsighted" and the Rx is a "-" diopter. If your Rx is "+" you are "farsighted" and need our gauge reader mask below.) Your mask and lenses will be assembled and will Ship Today. Mask features a black, high-impact plastic frame; black skirt; and easily adjustable strap. The Dive Rite double lens mask fits nearly every standard-to-wide face and will accommodate facial hair, large noses, and high brows. All Dive Rite masks from Dive Gear Express include a quality protective storage box.

To order, consult your eyeglass or contact prescription for the proper amount of correction, and then select the mask lenses. When reading your prescription, "OS" means your left eye, and "OD" means your right eye. Strength for the lenses ranges from -1.0 to -8.0 diopter in half diopters. If you have a quarter diopter prescription, then increase to the next higher diopter. For example, if the Rx is -1.75, then increase to -2.0 diopter. If one eye needs no correction, then order a "Plano" lens for that side.

Gauge Reader Mask

This versatle low-volume double-lens mask is is fitted with +2.0 diopter gauge reader lenses. A half circle inset at the bottom corner of each lens adds magnification to see close-up objects, such as gauges, with clarity and yet still provide a means for clear sight at distances. Made of high-quality silicone for superior comfort, fit, and durability, the Dive Rite Gauge Reader mask features a black, high-impact plastic frame; black skirt; tempered lenses; and easily adjustable strap. The mask fits nearly every standard-to-wide face and will accommodate facial hair, large noses, and high brows. All Dive Rite masks from Dive Gear Express include a quality protective storage box.

Because you asked... the vision correcting and gauge reader masks you find on this page have the magnification ground into the lenses themselves. The correction is not aftermarket 'stick on' or 'glue in' or adhered in any way. Our customers very plainly tell us the aftermarket solutions simply don't work well, and we don't bother selling them. For our masks, each of the lenses are ground just like you would expect on a pair of eyeglasses.

Tec Gauge Reader Mask

Clear +2.00 diopter Gauge Reader Lenses help take the guesswork out of interpreting the displays of gauges and computers. A half circle inset at the bottom corner of each lens adds magnification to see close-up objects, such as gauges and computers, with clarity and yet still provide a means for clear sight at distances. The Tec2000 offers a slightly larger faceplate and lens area, with the tradeoff that the mask is not quite as low volume. The Tec2000 Gauge Reader mask fits most medium-to-wide faces, but is not recommended if you have facial hair or prominent laugh lines.

SeaVision's patented vision-correction system involves one-piece precision-ground lenses. There is no bonding, gluing, or other primitive method used in a SeaVision product. All SeaVision lenses are made from high-quality composite hard resin material (CR-39) which makes them stronger than normal glass lenses and much more efficient.

Do NOT clean the lenses with abrasives such as toothpaste or SoftScrub as this will damage their anti-fog quality. To clean, spray a small amount of the non-abrasive and non-toxic SeaVision defog to the interior of each lens surface and rub on the entire lens. Thoroughly rinse all cleaner from the mask interior with fresh or salt water for a clear comfortable dive. All SeaVision masks from Dive Gear Express include a quality protective storage box and 2 fl. oz. pump spray bottle of SeaVision Defog cleaner.

Toothpaste is for Teeth

Please do NOT use toothpaste or other type of abrasive on our vision correcting masks. There is NOT any 'factory coating' on the glass that needs to be removed to prevent fogging. You will either damage the lenses, or needlessly waste toothpaste since most modern toothpaste formulations are not at all abrasive. The lenses are made of the same optical quality materials used in eyeglasses and they don't need to be abrasively cleaned, it will only scratch the lenses. All new dive masks do have mould release agents in the flexible skirt that during storage will migrate to the surface of the glass and cause fogging. These deposits can easily be removed with a powerful surfactant like our SeaVision defog or Johnson's® Baby Shampoo, but please don't use abrasives.
