The TransPlate harness is a Dive Rite innovation designed specifically for hard backplates. The TransPlate harness utilizes many features and benefits of the TransPac harness for divers who demand comfort and the perfect fit when using a backplate. The TransPlate transforms as quickly and as easily to accommodate everything from single cylinders to doubles with stage and deco bottles. The adjustable padded shoulder straps cinch for a perfect fit, stay where you set them, and allow easy switching between wetsuit and drysuit. The elegant and simple design of the adjustable shoulder straps don't interfere with the waist straps, meaning the waist D-rings don't move when you adjust the shoulders. The shoulder and waist D-ring positions are adjustable or can be removed entirely, and additional D-rings and buckles can easily be added for special needs. Canister lights, bellows pockets and other accessories can be quickly mounted or removed at the waist belt.

Already have your backplate and air cell? Then all you need to purchase is the TransPlate harness itself. The harness shoulders and waist belt quickly install on any hard backplate. The harness comes complete with shoulder and waist D-rings, but does not include a backplate.

> Harnesses for Backplates

Backplate Webbing Harnesses are available in Basic and Deluxe styles. The Basic webbing harness is made from a single { 11 ft | 3.4 m } piece of continuous webbing. The Deluxe webbing harness incorporates a chest strap and shoulder-strap pivot rings that increase comfort. The Deluxe harness version is very popular with women and is also available with a quick-release on the left shoulder. Both styles include shoulder and waist D-rings (shoulder D-rings are bent at a slight angle for better access), and a stainless steel buckle on the waist band. Both can be fitted with an optional crotch strap for stability, and optional neoprene shoulder pads to enhance comfort. Assembly instructions included.

The recently introduced SHORT versions are better suited for shorter stature divers who would like to take advantage of shorter backplates. They are based on a { 8 ft | 2.4 m } webbing length and the kits also include special low-profile { 2 in | 5.1 cm } D-rings that give a more proportional fit, yet are still easy to access for clipping.

Dive Rite Backplate Pad w/built-in sleeve

Recently improved, the Dive Rite Backplate Pad has been redesigned to include a convenient sleeve for lift bags and surface marker tubes. Created for use with hard metal backplates, the Backplate Pad alleviates pokes and prods from the plate into the soft area of the back. It attaches securely to any hard backplate by threading the shoulder straps through webbing loops at the top of the pad. The lower portion of the pad attaches through the crotch strap slot with a webbing loop. A quick release buckle allows the pad to be lifted away from the plate for easy access to bolts when diving double tanks. Open-cell porous design allows the pad to release water and dry quickly, plus it resists compression allowing the pad to maintain its thickness and comfort-providing shape at depth. Quick-dry fabric and drainage holes quickly release water and aid in drying.

> Dive Rite Crotch Strap

Used for fastening a harness and backplate securely to a diver's body, one end of the strap is threaded onto the backplate and the other end with a loop is placed on the waist belt webbing. The crotch straps keep the harness in place during water entry. By using a crotch strap, divers can prevent their gear slipping upwards on the body in the water, reducing the likelihood of the tank touching the back of the head during a dive. Crotch Straps include a stainless steel scooter ring for use with diver propulsion vehicles (DPVs). The ring is also a convenient place to temporarily clip off an item to free your hands, such as a lobster snare or camera. The crotch strap is available in continuous and slide release designs with a choice of { 1 in | 2.5 cm }, { 1.5 in | 3.8 cm } and { 2 in | 5.1 cm } widths. The slide release buckle offers the convenience of an adjustable length at the quick release buckle and allows the loop to be placed on waist belt webbing behind the buckle where it can remain. The continuous webbing crotch strap is preferred by technical divers who use DPVs for extended periods of time due to the added distribution of weight the width provides and the { 2 in |
5.1 cm } version includes a neoprene sleeve to protect exposure suit from abrasion.

> Quick Buckle Weight System by Dive Rite

Designed for use with the Dive Rite TransPac and TransPlate, their Quick Buckle (QB) Weight System consists of a pair of pockets, each with one or two inserts that each hold { 8 lb | 3.6 kg } of block or shot lead that easily releases when the handle is pulled and a holster that stays on the waist belt. Worn vertically or at an angle, the top-loading pockets protects divers from an inadvertent buoyancy event by keeping weight securely in place. Also has a grommet on bottom for rapid drainage. The narrow { 16 lb | 7.3 kg } QB Weight System holsters hold one insert that leaves plenty of room on the waist for other accessories. The wider { 32 lb | 14.5 kg } QB Weight System holsters holds two inserts to separate the additional weights and keep them from shifting inside the pocket; the { 32 lb | 14.5 kg } system is popular choice for drysuit divers. Note: These pockets have a left and right; the diver's right side holster has a Dive Rite logo patch, the diver's left side holster does not have a logo. DR Gravity Weight System, {32 lb | 14.5 kg}

Designed to hold up to 32lbs of bag shot or block lead weights (16lbs each pocket), the Dive Rite Gravity Weight Pockets give you instant control of your weight system. Strong Velcro fold-down flaps hold the weight securely, yet open easily in case of emergency even with gloved hands. There are no pouches to release (or to lose) and the inner chamber is channeled to hold weight in place and prevent sliding.

A zippered compartment at the top rear of the pocket can be used to hold slates, pocket lights or other accessories which saves real estate on the waist and offers options for storage.

> Single Tank Adapter and Tank Straps

For divers who frequently switch their harness, backplate and wing between double tank and single tank rigs, or between backmount and sidemount configurations, the Single Tank Adapter is a convenient way to attach cam straps to a backplate without having to thread the cam straps through the backplate slots and reweave the cam buckles. Constructed of marine grade passivated 304 stainless steel and including all stainless hardware consisting of pairs of both { 1 in | 2.5 cm } and
{ 1.5 in | 3.8 cm } attachment bolts (with some backplates the longer bolts are needed) on { 11 in |
27.9 cm } centers, washers, and wing nuts, along with two rubber pads to protect the tank. Also available as a package that includes two S/S Stamped Cam Buckle Tank Straps.

Tank straps are { 36 in | 91.4 cm } in length to accommodate { 7.25 in | 18.4 cm } or { 8 in |
20.3 cm } tanks and include a marine-grade, stainless steel cam buckle that is strong and low weight. The stainless steel buckle cam bands include a sewn-in, non-slip pad to protect the tank from scratches by the metal buckle. Tank straps are priced and sold EACH, if you need a pair order two.
